Enjoy an evening of high vibrational food + wine, beautiful music and heartfelt stories as we celebrate community to raise money to complete "The Spirit of Tata", a full length documentary following 103-year-old Tata Yawanawá in his final days - follow the historic and challenging journey of Matsini and the Yawanawá tribe as they lose their beloved elder and greatest living library of spiritual knowledge and power.
This story is emblematic of a reality we face around the world - the story of cultures losing their elders while struggling to recover and revive their ancient languages and traditions before they are lost forever. The film aims to wake up modern audiences to the inherent and vital need to preserve, protect, and support the continuation of indigenous peoples and knowledge for the sake of all life on earth.
Our first Fundraising event takes place next Tuesday, May 23rd in Venica, California. Food for the night will be provided buy renowned Todo Verde chef and Inspired Women of LA member Jocelyn Ramires with a biodynamic farm-to-fork vegan meal consisting served alongside an open bar of wines from the Ynez Valley. A Yerba Mate tea ceremony will commence prior to dinner and live musical performances will be performed by special guests and the Yawanawá tribe.
The event has ended, and it was an honor to have you with us
As great as the light is above us, greater by far is the light within. Thank you to everyone who made our gathering in Venice, CA a beautiful experience. It was a blessed night to have a healer, a medicine man, and a spiritual leader in our presence. Thank you, Matsini Yawanawá, for traveling so far to be with us here in the United States. You are a gift.
